A few short posts ago, Q da Kid and the Knux took the stage together for HOT 97 in NYC. Now they are appearing in my hometown of Dallas, TX tonight at the House of Blues with Q – Tip and the Cool Kids as part of the 2K Sports Bounce Tour
The Chicago Tribune writes of this Hip Hop duo:
“They pepper their beats with rock guitars that chug like the Cars and new-wave keyboards that suggest Depeche Mode. Tag-team vocals blend a Southern drawl with a darker, brooding tone reminiscent of Gothic rappers Gravediggaz. But Kream and Almillio also love melody. They don’t import hook doctors to sing the choruses; they do the job themselves.”
Speaking of the 2K Bounce Tour, the SF Examiner caught a show last week and blogged: “I did NOT expect a reunion of A Tribe Called Quest, an impromptu stint by Too Short and the breakdown of “Vivrant Thing” happening right in front of me. Off. The. Hook”
